Uncomfortable distorted noise, the middle four speakers hidden underneath the chairs sound like organs, slow sometimes a bit of Bach or it quiets down for Sunday service choir, appreciation for gospel music, moments of church communitylove beauty and spirituality - go upstairs the speaker on the railing asks :papa can you hear me ? The last speaker is positioned next to a little puppet - where the breasts should be there are slits, the eyes are Xs. The puppet lies on gras, flowers are positioned around him. You can only hear the sound of the last speaker if you put your ear really close and by that also to the puppet.Depending on the time you will hear Bach, Minnie Ripperton or Motherlode.

„I dont want to hear your screams from down below“is a direct quotation from my father. He strongly believes in a christianity that is -how he puts it- full of love but also will send me to hell for my transness/queerness. I am very much in conflict with that belief so in 2024 i started my research journey within the vast world of christianities. I have asked myself in the binar realms of good and bad where it is I might go. Heaven or Hell. I tried to find a logical space for me in a concept that is not about fact but belief, I wanted to find out if what my father believes is true maybe also If I believe it ?
Performing on 4 CDJ’s at the same time allows me to layer voices, melodies, rhythms, tracks and noises. Using the microphone I insert myself in my piece.
Listening Sessions with coffee, tea and cake
Samples from Gregorian Chants,Wicked,Kendrick Lamar,Muva earth
Materialisation of my research journey within the vast world of christianities. A communal listening sessions inspired from a coffee and cake get-together after sunday service. Listening to a mix that was fed from my explorations.
I tried to find Jesus in Rap, tried to understand what rappers like Kendrick Lamar mean when they refer to God and Jesus. I tried to wrap my body around christianity in accessing it through the doors that I know: community and sound.
